These are usually markings the "lot lizard" put on the car so that they will know if they have done their service in the car. The "lot lizards" are the companies that do minor repairs to a vehicle while it's on a used car lot. The service may include paintless dent repair, carpet and seat repairs, paint touch-up, etc. They put the markings on the headlamp lens so they can easily spot if the vehicle has already been repaired. Different "lot lizards" will use different markings. What's displayed here has nothing to do with headlamp alignment. (20 years experience in used car/dealership.)

Call your local law enforcement and your state police / highway patrol. See if they know. Leave the mark on there and asked them to tail you. You might bust a trafficking ring wide open. I say that because one person stated it might be a trafficking mark. If you live where guns are good, get one.
